Our visit to RGHF members on three continents began with an invitation to visit RGHF member Barkin Altinok, Istanbul. He has been a contributor to RGHF and so we agreed to stay with him at the end of our trip abroad. He prepared a lavish dinner for Rotarians in his district. He has also agreed to coordinate a new effort to training future leaders for RGHF. One of his first recuits for this effort is new RGHF member Mete Akinci, an Istanbul businessman and former NATO staff member

Gamze Hongur Altinok and Jack's wife Sherry Koski, the major contributor to this three continent RGHF visit, enjoy getting to know each other. Mete, Barkin, and Jack confer on the idea of a future leaders committee. Barkin was kind enough to allow us to use his computer to communicate with RGHF. On board the Royal Caribbean "Vision of the Seas" I was able to keep up with RGHF communication. We did have plenty of time to be tourists  and Rotarians made wonderful guides.

Always in contact with RGHF officers Our home Jesusalem The Egyptian Museum Pyramids

The Sphinx Finally, a last minute attempt to have a meeting on board Nice idea, but no one came Not as a result, but had to spend some time in the ship's clinic.

A note about all of these visits: Athens, Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, and Istanbul. After being invited to visit Barkin, in Istanbul, I decided that perhaps other meetings might be arranged.

A new member of RGHF, Nevine Abdelkhalek, in Cairo was quick to see the value of such a meeting. Chris Achilleoudis, PP of RC of Nicosia-Lefkathea coordinated the first RGHF event in Cyprus, with assistance from Matts Ingemanson, and became the first member of the fellowship in his country. PDG Irene Lewitt, our RGHF board member for zone 19, including Israel, organized a wonderful event in Tel Aviv In Athens, we met with the executive secretary of RC of Athens, who joined RGHF

The opportunity to meet hundreds of Rotarians and gain dozens of new supporting members made this a journey to remember. Thanks to all who were so helpful as we continue our "Road to Rotary" and preserve our past for a stronger Rotary tomorrow.
